Dear liberals: we gun owners are genuinely psyched that you’re buying guns. It means you’ll join us as 2A voters and protectors. Every new legal gun owner changes the pH balance of the anti-gun vote and makes blanket caricatures harder to sustain. The broader and more culturally diverse gun ownership becomes, the less viable one-size-fits-all anti-gun politics will be. So tell your friends to become legal, responsible gun owners—no matter how blue their hair, how septumed their noses, or how rainbowed their flags. The Second Amendment isn’t a costume or a tribe.
